Cookies and device storage
Last updated 15 October 2026
Top Tracks Solo uses two first-party cookies on the live site and your browser’s storage. They’re strictly necessary to run the game and your account, so they don’t need consent. Ads come from Google, which uses its own cookies (in the UK and EU only if you agree in the consent message). Ads for guests and anyone not confirmed 13+ are always non-personalised and child-directed. We don’t use analytics or tracking cookies of our own.
| Name | Type | What it’s for | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| __Host-tts_session | Cookie (first-party, HttpOnly) | Keeps you signed in. Only set when you sign in. | 30 days after you last use Top Tracks Solo, or until you sign out |
| __Host-tts_signin | Cookie (first-party, HttpOnly) | Ties a sign-in link to the browser that asked for it, so nobody can sign you in to their account without you noticing. | 15 minutes (until the link is used or runs out) |
| tt-solo.clientId | Local storage | A random id for this browser: counts a guest’s free matches, keeps you in one match at a time and stops abuse. | Until you clear site data |
| tt-solo.seat | Session storage | Your seat in the current match, so you can carry on after a reload. | Until you close the tab |
| tt-solo.liked, tt-solo.history | Local storage | Guests only: your saved tracks (“☆ Save for later”, moved to your account when you sign in) and My tracks. | Saved tracks until you remove them; My tracks 90 days (50 matches); or until you clear site data |
| tt-solo.preferredService | Local storage | Remembers the music app “Open in” goes to. | Until you change it or clear site data |
| Service worker cache | Cache storage | Keeps the game’s own code and styles on your device so it loads quickly. Nothing about you. | Until the next version of the game replaces it, or you clear site data |
| FCCDCF, FCNEC | Cookie (Google consent message) | Remembers your choice in Google’s consent message (strictly necessary to respect it). Only where ads can show. | Up to 13 months |
| __gads, __gpi, __eoi, IDE | Cookie (Google advertising, third-party) | Where ads show, and in the UK/EU only if you agreed in the consent message: ad delivery, frequency capping, reporting, fraud prevention and — only for signed-in 13+ players who said yes — personalised ads. Child-directed ads (guests, and anyone not confirmed 13+) are never personalised, but may still use cookies for frequency capping and fraud prevention where the law allows. | Up to 13 months |
| tt-solo.adPersonalised | Local storage | Signed-in 13+ only: remembers that you turned “Personalised ads” on (off until you do; in the UK/EU Google’s consent message must agree too). | Until you turn it off or clear site data |
| tt-solo.adConsentTest | Local storage | Test site only: remembers your answer to the test stand-in for the consent message (never used on the live site). | Until you change it or clear site data |
| tt_gate | Cookie (first-party, HttpOnly) | Test site only: lets testers past the test site’s password (never set on the live site). | 7 days after last use, 30 days at most |
Ads and your consent
Before any ad loads, Google’s consent message asks whether you agree to advertising cookies and personalised ads (in the UK and EU under the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework). Where the law needs your consent, no ad loads until you’ve answered (the consent message itself comes from Google), and nothing from Google loads at all on the sign-in, account and legal pages. If you say no, you may still see non-personalised (limited) ads. Ads are only personalised for a signed-in 13+ player who turns on “Personalised ads” on the account page and (in the UK and EU) also agrees in the consent message; a US state opt-out in Google’s privacy message always wins. Guests and anyone not confirmed 13+ always get child-directed, non-personalised ads, whatever is chosen. Change your mind any time with “Privacy settings” under an ad, or the switch on your account page.
Third parties
Album artwork and track previews are loaded from Apple, and Google sets the cookies above for ads (only with your consent where the law requires it).
Managing storage
You can clear cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time; you’ll be signed out, and as a guest you’ll lose the saved tracks and My tracks kept in this browser. Questions: hello@tasticgames.com. More in our Privacy notice.
